This is a Deaf-centered event, so come prepared to sign! If your ASL proficiency is low, then please respect language access and use the ASL interpreters to communicate with the group.
We will meet at the main garden entrance within Washington Park in downtown Portland at 10 AM, and we will enter together. We will explore the garden together and then leave by 1 PM. You don't have to stay for the whole time, but our group will start touring the garden around 10 AM for sure. If you come late, keep an eye out for a group using ASL!
You must purchase tickets for yourself: $22.50 Adult, $19.50 Senior (65+), $16.50 Student, $16.50 Youth (6-17), Free for Child 5 and under. $5 each for 2 adults when you show your
Oregon Trail SNAP card.
Outside food and beverages are not allowed in the gardens- you may bring water if you wish. Food or drinks, if desired, must be purchased by the attendee- check out the menu and prices here: https://japanesegarden.org/cafe-menu/
Parking can be difficult and costs about as much as regular street parking, so consider taking public transit, or park in the surrounding area and then walk/bike/transit into the park.
