Thank you for your interest in Journalism at PCC!
We're excited to gauge interest in forming a new Student Journalism Club.
This club would provide a hands-on opportunity for students of all majors and experience levels to produce engaging student media, including news articles, features, and multimedia content.
Why Join a Student Media Club?
Getting involved in student media is more than just an extracurricular activity; it's a chance to gain valuable skills and make a real impact:
-
Build Your Portfolio: Create published work (articles, photos, videos) that you can use for college applications, scholarships, or job interviews.
-
Develop Core Skills: Hone your writing, interviewing, research, and critical thinking skills—assets that are essential in any career path.
-
Be a Voice for the Community: Report on campus issues, celebrate student achievements, and explore topics that are important to your peers.
-
Connect and Collaborate: Meet students with shared interests and work together in a fun, fast-paced, and creative environment.
-
Learn from the Pros: Potentially attend workshops and conferences, connect with professional journalists and media makers from other local colleges, and enter your work into writing competitions.
If you are interested in helping launch or simply joining this new Student Journalism Club, please fill out this quick interest form by October 31.
Your responses will help us determine the level of interest, decide on potential meeting times, and shape the focus of the club.
We look forward to hearing your ideas and hopefully working with you to bring a vibrant new student voice to our campus!
