Mission
The mission of the Black Student Union (BSU) is to support and hold an intellectually engaging space for the diverse population of students who identify as Black and/or African-American on the campuses of Portland Community College and the surrounding Portland Metro area.

Membership Benefits
Students (in good standing with Portland Community College) who become members of the Black Student Union are eligible to receive the following benefits:
**Hold a leadership position in the BSU
**Vote on concerns brought up in BSU meetings and on leadership positions
**Increased cultural awareness of the Black/African Diaspora
**Sense of community and belonging
**Attend field trips and special events sponsored by the BSU
